Emily McRae - Teaching in Busan

A certified teacher from USA

My experience with Education Adventure, and my recruiter Sally, has been great! From the very start, Sally made sure I felt comfortable asking any questions or concerns, and she would call me to check in during the visa/application process. I had very specific requests in regards to start dates, location, and grade level, and Sally was able to find me the perfect position.I have been working with SLP Haeundae in Busan, and am very happy to have joined their team. Busan is a great city. It is right on the ocean and there's always tons to do and see. I would recommend it to anyone!

Teaching in South Korea through Education Adventure

A certified teacher from USA

When I was seeking a teaching position in Korea during the summer of 2016, my experience overseas was limited and I had no idea where to start. Luckily, I found Education Adventure and was put into contact with Sally Kwon. During the visa process and even after I’d arrived in Korea, I had many questions and concerns but Sally was there every step of the way. From obtaining my fingerprints to moving from Busan to Seoul, where I currently reside, Sally has been merely an e-mail away from solving my problems and eradicating my fears. Sally helped me (and my coworkers) through a sticky situation – her powers knew no time zone! – and eventually found me a terrific placement where my skills as a teacher are valued and my needs as a person are respected and met.

I cannot recommend Education Adventure enough. If it can help little ol’ me through the biggest, most exciting adventure of my life, it can do the same for anyone!

Mark Nolan – Lykeion Gwanggyo campus in Gwanggyo

Ireland

My name is Mark. I contacted Education Adventure looking for a job at the end of 2016. I received a response from a recruiter called Ellie Yun. She was fantastic and guided me through the whole process. She went out of her way to help me secure a job in an area that suited me with a highly reputable Academy.  Any questions I had for Ellie during the visa process were answered swiftly and honestly.

The English Academy I was placed with is called Lykieon Language Forum and is based in Suwon. I have been here for 5 months now and I’ve really enjoyed it. Lykieon is a fantastic Academy to work for. The workload is light, students are great and I have had no issues at all. I have Ellie to thank for finding me such a fantastic Academy.  I have heard stories of other people working much longer hours and not getting paid on time in other academies.

Suwon is a great area to live. It has a decent nightlife and Seoul is only an hour away on the subway. Suwon is also home to the Suwon Bluewings, so you can enjoy some football on the weekends.

Alysha Lalonde-Taught more than a year at Avalon Gwanggyo campus

Canada

My name is Alysha and I started my search for a position in Korean in early 2015. With friends having taught in Korea in the past, I was highly encouraged to contact Ellie at Education Adventure.

I did so, and within a couple of days, I knew I had made the right decision. Ellie asked me what my priorities were in terms of my job search, and made sure that these were met with every potential contract sent my way. Ellie was quick to reply to e-mails, and also made herself available to answer any questions or concerns within a very timely manner.

When I had almost decided on a school, I had expressed my concerns with Ellie: although I felt great about the interview, and had a gut feeling that the right decision was to accept the position, I found it difficult to find information regarding that specific campus on the Internet. Very understanding, Ellie contacted the school director for further explanation, and helped me understand that it was a new campus in a new and growing city. She put me in contact with current teachers from that site. During the whole process, Ellie was very understanding of all questions and concerned, and never made me feel as though I had to make a quick decision.

My time in Korea was fantastic. I reached out to Ellie a couple of times during my time in Korea, and, as always, she was quick to answer me with helpful information. Even upon my return, I have been in contact with Ellie and, without a doubt, she has always come through.

I would, without hesitation, encourage anyone considering teaching in Korea, to do so with the help of Ellie.

Sally is amazing!

Moving to a foreign country is exciting, and the nitty gritty details of making that happen successfully and smoothly are all part of the excitement. Sometimes bureaucratic procedures, cultural differences, and not speaking the language of the country you are moving to can wrinkle that thrill into stress …But not if you have one Mrs Sally Kwon on your side!!!

Sally went above and beyond for myself and my coworkers on too many occasions to count. She stayed up well past her bedtime to be sure that I was well-communicated with, and that my needs were covered whenever I required help down to the smallest detail. I did not even have to ask; she just did it! This is because she cares about her teachers and what happens to them in their adventures and lives.

Any moving-to-Korea/working in Korea tool you need, she has in her belt, including spares just in case.

She has all of the skills required to not only find schools the right teachers, but also find teachers the right schools for them. Sally truly has the best interests of all parties involved in the job-placement and immigration process, but she holds her teachers above all others when it comes to her responsibility as your recruiter.

I will always recommend Sally Kwon to anyone and everyone thinking about teaching in Korea.  She can’t be beat!

Justin Cassel, SLP Busan Haeundae

A TESL certified teacher from USA

I have had the pleasure of working with Sally and Education Adventure twice now while teaching in Korea.  The first time was shortly after university.  Sally found me a great job working at a hagwon (yes, I know hagwons have a bad rap and you may think this is impossible) in Suwon, just outside of Seoul.  The second time Sally found me a great job in Busan that had everything I was looking for in a teaching position.  The reason I chose Sally over other recruiters was because she listened to my needs and wants and didn’t put me into the first position she had available.  Also, she has been there to answer any questions I have had during both of my experiences in Korea, whether they be prior to my arrival about my visa or after landing in regards to working hours, overtime pay, health insurance, or any old random question.  She and Education Adventure have been extremely professional, helpful, and I would recommend them to any of my friends.  Stick with Sally!  She knows what she is doing and will find the right school for you!
